Pass Plus
Two young people under 25 die every day in crashes in Great Britain.
In their first year of driving one driver in five is involved in a crash.
Pass plus is a voluntary scheme that offers benefits to newly qualified car drivers. By experiencing a greater variety of driving situations and conditions under qualified instruction, the driver becomes safer and more skilful. A positive driving style is developed and the risk of being involved in a accident is reduced.
The training syllabus has been designed by the Driving Standards Agency along with input from the driving instruction industry.
It is a structured, competence based training program.
Drivers completing Pass Plus may be eligible to discounts from insurance companies who participate in the scheme.
There are many local authorities including Worcester County Council offering grants up to 50% towards pass plus tuition fees. See pass plus website for details. http://www.passplus.org.uk/.
